چکیده

Based on more precise description of the temperature-pressure dependence of entropy, we expand the Avramov’s model. In this way, viscosity or relaxation time are described with better accuracy. It is demonstrated that there is a strong relation between the fragility parameter F, described here, and the fragility parameter m, introduced by Angell, m ð13 10%ÞF. Analyses of experimental data on dielectric relaxation of phenylphthalein-dimethylether (PDE) are in agreement with the proposed model. 2009 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Modeling of Pressure Dependence of Interfacial Tension Behaviors of Supercritical CO2 + Crude Oil Systems Using a Basic Parachor Expression

Parachor based expressions (basic and mechanistic) are often used to model the experimentally observed pressure dependence of interfacial tension (IFT) behaviors of complex supercritical carbon dioxide (sc-CO2) and crude oil mixtures at elevated temperatures. However, such modeling requires various input data (e.g. compositions and densities of the equilibrium liquid and vapor phases, and molec...

Pressure Dependence of Liquid Vapor Pressure: An Improved Gibbs Prediction

A new model for the vapor phase of a pressurized liquid called "the cluster model: which is originally introduced in this work, along with an accurate equation of state for the liquid phase called the LIR, is used to derive an accurate equation for the vapor pressure of liquid as a function of external pressure. The chemical Potential of both phase have been found to be in good agreement wi...

Viscosity Calculation of Supercritical Gases Based on the Rainwater-Friend Theory and the Modified Enskog Theory

A new correlation function for the calculation of viscosity for five typical supercritical gases is presented using the rainwater-Friend and modified Enskog theory. It is shown that by using accurate value for the thermal pressure and co-volume in the modified Enskog theory, this correlation function is suitable for calculation of the viscosity of supercritical gases, without any density an...

New Analytical Approach for Reservoir Stress Approximation Based on Acid Fracturing Data

In this research attempts were made to estimate the in-situ stresses acting on a hydrocarbon reservoir based on routine activities of acid injection in oil reservoir. It was found that the relation between the re-opening pressure of fracture and principal in-situ stresses can be estimated using rock mechanics equations for the circular underground cavities. An appropriate relation between the m...

A New Approach to Simultaneously Enhancing Heavy Oil Recovery and Hindering Asphaltene Precipitation

A new chemical compound is developed at Petroleum University of Technology to enhance the recovery of the free imbibition process and simultaneously hinder asphaltene precipitation. The compound is tested on heavy oil samples from Marun oil field, Bangestan reservoir. The effects of the chemical compound on viscosity, hydrocarbon composition, and average molecular weight of the heavy oil are in...
